Training To Lose 100 Pounds Day 1: Easing Into It

There are a bunch of theories about losing weight. They’ll tell you to stop eating sugar, to stop eating fried foods, to exercise like crazy, to walk ten thousand steps a day, and a million other things.

Some may be true. Many are just a bunch of crap. For me, when it comes to helping people lose a lot of weight, I stick to something quite simple: we get the body moving, and we build muscle.

Many people who want to lose a lot of weight just focus on seeing a number on a scale drop. But this can be a really stupid mistake because your weight number dropping doesn’t mean you’re doing it in the right way.

It actually can lead to health issues due to a lack of shit your body needs to function properly.  Checkout shows like The Biggest Loser, and you’ll see that many of the participants, who lose tons of weight during the show, gain it back shortly afterward.

So what’s the right way to go about losing weight?

You should focus, like I said above, on getting your body moving and on building muscle. And you gotta do it in ways that you don’t usually do it because our bodies get comfortable moving a certain way—they get efficient.

So the impact won’t be that much. But, take Mike as an example. His body isn’t used to jogging, and it will try to catch up to what he wants to do, and results will be good.

The best way to lose muscle is to stimulate the entire body. That’s why I walked Mike through a mainly bodyweight routine in the video. We did some squats, some push-ups also walked, jogged a little, and added some light weights too.

And I always tried to get him to keep moving to keep his heart rate up because a stronger heart will enable you to go harder as you progress.

Conclusion

You gotta keep in mind that when you train, you should have a specific goal in mind. Whether it is building muscle, bulking up, getting shredded, or simply losing a lot of weight, the intention when you workout must be clear.

That way, you won’t get sidetracked with the next shiny thing someone is promoting. For weight loss, it’s quite simple, even if many gurus don’t want it to sound like that, you just gotta get moving (functional shit and the like) and watch what you’re eating.
