Squat Every Day Day 4 With Coach Taelor B | Mike Rashid

Alright, so today is day 4 of Squat Every Day. In a nutshell, what I’m doing—and what you should be doing if you’re following my lead—is choosing a heavyweight and doing a squat progression to touch that weight every day for as many days as possible.

I’m personally not doing this with my heaviest weight because I haven’t hit my heaviest weight in a very long time. But, I’m still doing it with a weight that’s still pretty heavy for me.

The Reason For Putting Yourself Through This

The purpose of this is conditioning your central nervous system (CNS) so that it gets used to this type of over the top stress. It’s not easy. In fact, today, this was very hard for me. When I was on my way up today, I was already feeling the challenge.

But, nothing was hurting, so I just pushed through it. I know that my body will adapt and adjust at some point, and then it will be smooth sailing from there. But I’m not there yet. That said, it’s all about pushing yourself so that your body passes that point, and you become stronger.

Today’s Special Guest

Today I was joined by Coach Taelor B. (@Im_TaaelorB). She’s in the health & wellness field doing physical therapy work and personal training. But always looking to inspire people both mentally and physically.

She had been recovering from an injury and hadn’t squatted in a few months. But, today, she squatted with me and went all the way up to 275 (that’s a lot of weight y’all).

Keep This In Mind

There are a couple of things that y’all should keep in mind when it comes to the Squat Every Day Challenge. One of them is that Squat Every Day doesn’t mean leg day every day. That would actually mess you up. We’re just working on one squat progression every day all the way up to our chosen weight.

Another thing is that, as we ascend in weight, we should be very conservative with our reps because otherwise, we will burn out.

Optional Sets After Your Top Sets

After her top set, Coach Taelor B. did a fatality set. 185 pounds for 15 reps.

After my top set, I did pause reps (I hate them). I did 5 at 315 pounds sitting in the pocket as deep as I could go.
