Listen, many people have been taking up my advice on eating just once a day, and many others seem to be looking to get into it. So I wanted to explain to you guys how I do it, and to show you a few things that make eating once a day way easier than it seems.
So people’s most common reaction, when they find out that I only eat once a day, is “how in the world do you not get hungry?” Listen, that’s a normal reaction because we’ve been taught all of our lives that we should eat three main meals and a couple of snacks, and therefore that’s the norm.
However, like I’ve told you guys before, when you’re constantly eating, your body is continually producing toxins to process that food. And, if you’re eating all day, it means that your body is doing that nonstop. In a way, it’s like running an engine without ever giving it a break.
By eating just once a day, or going on an intermittent fasting diet, the biggest benefit outside of getting to ketosis, in my opinion, is that you’re giving your body enough time to rest in between meals. This is why I started to feel so damn good—without any inflammation—after jumping on this bandwagon.
With that said, though, there are a few things I do to not feel hungry during the day and, at the same time, run on optimal levels of energy. If you wanna know the details, read below.
My Ritual Coffee: How I Start My Days
Listen, if you’re familiar with ketogenic diets, you’d already know that typically you start your morning with a cup of coffee plus some coconut oil or some MCT, which has long-chain and medium-chain triglycerides.
For those of you who don’t know, me and my boys Sean Torbati and Marc Lobliner came out with Ambrosia—a supplement line to help you unlock your full potential.
One of Ambrosia’s most popular products is Ritual, which has everything you need to start your mornings with. Listen, its components contain the crucial nutrients that your brain and body crave as a whole in their quest for optimal functionality.
All of the things in Ritual are crucial for your brain and body. Among several things, it includes MCT, which is what coconut oil has and the reason it’s good for you. It also has OBHB, which gives you ketones and which is what you’re trying to elicit in the first place to get to a state of ketosis.
This is the single best morning supplement I’ve ever tried in my life. And trust me, I’ve tried a lot of things. I mean, you know me—I eat my own dog food. Seriously, everybody else is gonna have to catch up to this.
My Morning Routine
So first thing in the morning, I have a full scoop of Ritual. I do mine with water, but you can mix it up with coffee if you’d like. Then, I take my Mental Jewels, which are great for your brain. Listen, you feel this right away. This shit gets your brain functioning better, and you just feel it!
I also take some turmeric, which is a natural anti-inflammatory. Listen, my knee was killing me. I thought I was gonna have to get surgery, so I went to the doctor. He said that it had to be inflammation because there wasn’t any structural damage. So I started taking this, and the knee pain went away completely.

The Ultimate Hack To Not Feel Hungry
After I take my Ritual coffee, I go out and walk my dog for a little bit, and when I come back, I take my first serving of water. But it’s not just plain water. I add some great shit to it.
The first thing I add is chlorophyll, which is the pigmentation in plants—the green you see in plants. What it does is it converts sunlight into energy by a process known as photosynthesis, and it’s perfect for the human body.

For my second serving of water, I add some nectar. This tastes amazing, and it’s great for your body. In a way, it’s like a little life hack because it tastes like some sort of natural soda. It’s sweet, but there’s no sugar at all in it—it’s all-natural.
I’ll have 5 to 6 servings of water every day. And, I kid you not, this keeps me satiated the entire day. I don’t feel hungry, and I’m always running on high levels of energy. I even feel great working out and going hard without putting anything else besides my Ritual coffee and my water in my system.
On Top Of My Daily Meal, I Add Also Add This
Listen, I know I said I’m not vegan, but I’m moving further away from eating meat as time passes. I was alternating days between eating animal protein or my Planta plant-based protein. But now, I’m starting to take the plant-based protein route more often.
You guys have been seeing that I eat a big plate for vegetables and either cook some salmon, which, by the way, is my favorite animal protein, or I take a double-serving of Planta plant-based protein with a big-ass scoop of peanut butter.
With that said, though, I also take some of their shit. Here’s what I throw in to make sure I’m functioning at optimum efficiency levels. And trust me, the inflammation in my body is gone. I’m in the best shape of my life. I feel younger even though I’m older, and my doctor is absolutely shocked at my numbers.
- Overtraining Solution: you know how we feel about overtraining around here—it’s all in the mind. But, you’d gotta be an idiot to only rely on the mind, so I take this post-workout supplement. This supercharges or immune system, and it prevents you from succumbing to overtraining syndrome.
- Nektar Superfoods: this contains scientifically validated ingredients in their studied dosages to address the parts of your body that truly matter. Your key internal organs: the liver, lungs, heart, and kidney, which are often overlooked in favor of pursuing lower body fat or more muscle. With this, you don’t have to worry about that.
So Mike, do you not crave eating shitty food?
Listen, if I wanted, I could afford to splurge, eating whatever I wanted. But, you know what? When you’re on that path of eating healthy, and you’ve been on it for a while, you stop feeling those cravings. I mean, now I don’t even have the desire to eat certain things that would make most regular humans say I’m missing out, you know what I mean?
I’m not looking to tell you that this is the end of all, but supplements help me, and they also help a ton of people. You gotta be putting in the work at the gym, and you also gotta be eating properly. The supplements alone are not gonna cut it, but they help take you to the next level.
What I take in the morning, plus the water with the chlorophyll, and the nectar, supercharge my morning and keeps me satiated throughout the day. So it’s not like I’m feeling like I’m starving all the time. And, the best thing of all, I’m able to be in ketosis or fairly close to it for most of the days during most of my days.
The Plain Truth About Why People Get Fat
All this shit that comes from fruits and vegetables, like chlorophyll and nectar, activates sensors in your body that make you feel satiated. These sensors are not activated when you’re eating processed garbage, so you actually don’t get satiated.
That’s why fat people get fatter—because they keep eating all the time without any nutrition attached to it, so the hungry feeling pretty much never goes away.
Instead, you can actually start putting stuff such as turmeric, chlorophyll, nectar, and all these other things in your body. This will make you feel satiated with a minimum amount of calories, and it’s going to jumpstart your progress.
The Bottom Line
A ton of people focus on the number of calories that they eat during the day. To me, that’s irrelevant. It’s kind of like working out going to failure—the number of reps doesn’t really matter. What matters is that you’re putting your body through that uncomfortable experience of not being able to get one more rep in.
So, you gotta focus on the quality of the calories that you’re putting in your body. Eating 10 calories of processed garbage food is not the same as eating 10 calories of broccoli or of my personal-favorite Planta protein shake, do you feel me?
This stuff starts my day and lets me keep going without feeling hungry. I go to the gym on an empty stomach but with all this stuff—my Ritual, the water, the turmeric, my nectar, my omega 3—in my system. And then, after the gym, I go to have my main meal.
That’s pretty much it y’all! I wanted to let you guys in on this little hack to not be hungry throughout the day in case you’re trying intermittent fasting and are struggling with that.
What do you think of this? Let me know in the comments.
