Squat Everyday Day 2
For Squat Everyday Day 2, I had a very special guest. Her name is B.B. Bates, and she’s a former softball national champion with UCLA. It was her leg day, and I joined her for the squat progression.
Remember y’all, Squat Every Day doesn’t mean leg day every day. That would actually mess you up. We’re just squatting every day, doing our progressions up to our heavy set, and then working on other stuff.
On day 2, I changed things up a bit by not wearing sleeves. I didn’t forget them at home. I trained without them on purpose. The reason for this is that you wanna kind of give your body different variables all the time—even if it’s something that seems small. This is so that your body doesn’t get used to doing things the same exact way all the time.
I went up to 5 plates (on each side), and that was it, which is the lowest top number I’m looking to hit every day on this Squat Everyday series. I’ll move it up in future sessions to 545 and 585. You’ll see that if you’re following closely.

Once I got done with my squats, it was all into BB’s workout. We worked on some pause reps with some minor technique adjustments because she already had very good form.
I mean, she’s already very athletic—a division 1 athlete. That said, everyone can still improve a little, so I had her shift her hips back just a bit, which protects her knees.
Everybody’s weakest position is at the bottom. So, if you don’t get comfortable down there by constantly activating that position properly, it’d be hard to gain strength there. When you shift your hips back like sitting on a chair, you’re activating that position—and it’s way more comfortable actually.
Wanna Train With Me? Keep This In Mind
With BB, since she’s already fit and strong, and this was the first time she was working out with me, I wanted to work her up to the level where she’s already at. Listen, when you go in and train with me, whether it is in person or online, Imma design the workout around your athleticism and strength.
If you’re just getting started and want to lose a lot of weight, I’ll give you something for that. If, on the other hand, you’re already muscular but want to get shredded, I’ll put together a workout for that. It’s always about you, not about me! It’s never about me! Unless it’s my personal workout, of course!
BB’s Leg Workout
We did 5 reps of pause squats coming up on my command, with a 3 count.

Then we did a fatality set with the same weight. When you do a fatality set, I don’t need you to do a perfect squat every time. Though, I do need you having good form and getting into the pocket.
But I don’t want you to lockout at the top because it’ll be a little bit of a rest if you do. And this point of the workout, the goal was burning out to tear those muscle fibers apart so that they grow back stronger.

Listen, the Squat progression could be a workout on its own. But with BB, we worked on other exercises to make it a full leg day. Now, it was all calculated and controlled so that she could still beast out safely. It’d do you no good if you just go in there like a crazy motherfucker and get injured, you know what I’m saying?

Don’t Let Them Confuse You With This Shit
When I’m working with people, I always try to simplify things. I’m not in there using crazy medical and scientific terms that nobody understands—that shit is silly.
I’ve seen some fitness influencers posting shit with this type of jargon, and it just doesn’t make any sense. What good is any knowledge if you can’t transmit it in a way that’s easy to grasp and remember?
This is not rocket science. Many people wanna make you think that it is with all their percentages and breakdowns—it’s not. We’re just lifting weights. The only important thing is that you’re doing it safely so that you don’t hurt yourself. Other than that, it’s a matter of what your goal is.
Do you wanna increase your athletic capacity, your endurance, your strength? Do you wanna look better? Perhaps build stronger muscles? Then, there are different chambers that you travel down when you have a desired outcome. But, other than that, it’s not rocket science y’all.
Alright, that’s it for day 2. Now onto Squat Everyday Day 3.
